Solid Body

How come nobody has ever done a solid body electric guitar?
oak (body only, of course) I think really could do much thinner since the oak is so dense and heavy, so dngrrngr62, how do you know? Byrde1994 Thanks, great response and has much sense
I think it's because of the lack of real tone hard dense forests do not like to vibrate much I've played solid maple bodies, and tend to be very bright, well the burden most guitarists, I want a very soft sound of the acoustic, maple wood have been used by companies a couple, but again, they are bright sounding guitar, well balanced, for the record, but brilliant. I've played Taylor guitars also Black Walnut, (Custom Shop) again, very bright, very good looking, but I did not like much the sound that would work for bass, if hollowed out, or something wieght can be an important factor from my experience I have a fear Maple Taylor, and Taylor GS Custom Shop Brazilian rosewood, inlaid horse
